I read It is 1939. Nazi Germany. The country is holding its breath. Death has never been busier, and will become busier still.
Liesel Meminger is a foster girl living outside of Munich, who scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can’t resist–books. With the help of her accordion-playing foster father, she learns to read and shares her stolen books with her neighbors during bombing raids as well as with the Jewish man hidden in her basement. shortly after I finished Skin Collector. I just never got around to writing it up. It was an interesting read. Following a young girl as she tries to figure out her life and what exactly is going on around her during a terrible time.
I started Collected for the first time in chronological order and featuring stories by fan-favorite writer Grant Morrison (BATMAN INC, FINAL CRISIS) and the legendary Neil Gaiman (SANDMAN, AMERICAN GODS), FAMILY MAN continues the arcane adventures of Vertigo's chain-smoking magician John Constantine. In this volume, Constantine attempts a vacation after recent events, but as usual, things don't go as planned. Plus, Constantine must uncover the mystery of the murderous Family Man. on Tuesday. It feels a little disjointed, which isn't too unusual, but I'm wondering if it's really in the proper order like it says it is. Story is good so far though, terrible things happening and Constantine is trying to figure it out/stop it.
