So the day started with a random phone call I received that turned out to be a job offer. I posted my resume on Monster.com a few months ago as I need a job, but hadn't really gotten anything from it. Until today. A guy who works with companies to help them find employees stumbled across my resume and called me to see if I was interested in a part time clerical/admin job downtown. After discussing what I would be doing and what the pay was, I said I would be very interested. He then called the company and discussed me with them to determine if I would be a good fit for them. He called me back and said that he still had to work out some final details (like start date) with the company, but that all looked good. So for all the hard work I've been doing filling out endless online applications for companies that NEVER CALL BACK, I suddenly get an offer for a job I didn't even apply for! Now I just have to hope all goes well and I actually GET the job.

Then Andy and I headed over to a property management office that maintains a house we looked at a couple weeks ago. We really liked the house (except for a few minor details, like no dishwasher) and the location, plus the rent was almost $100 LESS than what we're paying now. We discussed a few things that we wanted done and then signed the lease! We now have a bigger place to live AND it's a house! We can start moving stuff over on the 22nd.

And the last part of the day involved a trip to the doctor. I went to my gynecologist for my annual exam last week and took a pregnancy test there (not really thinking I was pregnant, but knowing it was possible since I've been off my birth control since right after Thanksgiving) and found out I was pregnant. They couldn't tell how far along I was since they said it was still really early (they estimated that I was less than 4 weeks). So then I made an appointment with an obstetrician, hoping they could tell me how far along I was (plus I kinda need one anyway). We went in to the doctor's office (after sitting in the waiting room for over an hour...) and we got to have an ultrasound to determine how far along I was. I can't even explain how amazing it is to see a tiny little heartbeat and hear one coming from inside you that isn't your own. Even at just 5 weeks you could see the cells that will be the heart beating away. The heartbeat was really strong, the doctor wasn't even sure we'd be able to hear it yet, but as soon as he turned on the sound it was right there. He printed out little pictures for us to bring home. You can't see much except a little black circle with a tiny white clump inside, but it's our little baby. :)

So all in all, today was pretty awesome. :)
