New Show

I finally found a new show that inspires! It's been a long time. There have been new shows that I liked, but none that really spoke to me.

But this past Sunday A Discovery of Witches premiered here in the sates (it premiered last year in the UK (and possibly elsewhere)) and I watched it yesterday.

When it ended I wanted more. Partly because it ended on a kind of cliff hangerish, frustrating end. A reveal that the main character got to see, but we didn't, just her reaction.

I WANT TO KNOW WHAT SHE SAW!!!!!!! ::sigh:: I can guess, but really I just want to SEE it.

And I want SO BAD to read some fanfic (there is some out there), but I don't want any spoilers and the few I skimmed summaries of included characters that I haven't met yet. :(

SO, I made icons instead!

They're not super great, I'm feeling a bit rusty, but I really wanted to keep them simple and just work on my composition/cropping. I'm not sure if the images were poor quality or if it was me messing with the lighting too much, but some of them were a bit pixelated. I tried to smooth them out, but I'm sure you can see it if you look close.

SOMEONE WATCH THIS WITH ME SO I CAN SHARE MY FEELINGS!!

And I know it's based on a book series (https://deborahharkness.com/all-souls-world-home/the-all-souls-world-books/), I've already looked it up. I won't read it until the show is done though. Otherwise it might ruin the show for me.

I just finished watching Jonathon Strange & Mr. Norrell today. It was a seven part mini series on BBCA this summer. It was amazing. I really liked it. The guide online said it was like Harry Potter for adults, but I disagree. This is completely different. The only similarities I can see are magic and London/England.

I may try to get this on DVD if it becomes available. I know it was based on a book, so I will probably try to see if I can get it from the library and check that out too.

But if you like magical fantasy, definitely check it out. It's also set in Victorian England during the French/English war.

Here's the link for IMDb: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2548418/

And for the book: http://www.jonathanstrange.com/ (that's the publisher, you can find it on Amazon also.)
