As I got closer to the end of Long After Midnight, I felt as if I'd read it before. But I have zero memory of the rest of the book. So either I have read it and the rest of the book had no lasting impact on me, or there's another book with the exact same ending. Either is possible. I still enjoyed the book even with the weird feeling.
Then I switched to my Kindle and read ( Vampires Don't Give Hickeys by Holly Ryan ). This had a very Buffy the Vamipre Slayer feel to it, but with an explicit rating for lots of sexy time. It was a fun read and I may look for the rest of the series.
After that I read ( Wrenched by Emma James ). This was terrible. I should've stopped when I didn't like the first page. No one should read this. While there were good ideas, they were not executed well and the characters were poorly done.
So then I dug through my stack of tbr paperbacks, and found ( River Runs Red by Jeffrey J. Mariotte ). This was slow moving and a little boring for at least the first half of the book, but once things start happening, it moves quickly. Overall I liked the book, I just wish it had the same pace all through the book.
