As I got closer to the end of Long After Midnight, I felt as if I'd read it before. But I have zero memory of the rest of the book. So either I have read it and the rest of the book had no lasting impact on me, or there's another book with the exact same ending. Either is possible. I still enjoyed the book even with the weird feeling.
Then I switched to my Kindle and read “Marry the devil…or die.”
That’s the ultimatum Belle Harrison, vampire slayer, just received from a demon. Belle has only one response: To hell with him.
Turns out it’s not that easy, though—apparently the devil doesn’t know the meaning of the word no.
Lucky for Belle, three panty-melting vampires come to her aid. Three hot vampires she can’t resist. Hey, we all have our vices. Hers just happen to have fangs.
And she’s going to need these three to help her thwart the devil’s marriage proposal and defeat the terrifying dark force that wants her dead. . This had a very Buffy the Vamipre Slayer feel to it, but with an explicit rating for lots of sexy time. It was a fun read and I may look for the rest of the series.
After that I read WHISPER
Stolen—I was a whisper.
Freedom—it came with a price.
I was a secret.
I don’t even know my full name.
Miss Catherine and Boxer changed my life.
I've started to trust in humanity.
That was until Edge walked into my life.
Now I’m screwed.
I’ve escaped one Hell’s bastard only to be wrenched back towards another.
EDGE
I thought I knew it all.
Even a killer with no conscience can seek redemption.
This mess is gonna get real bad before it gets better.
Unfortunately, it's gonna take me time to realize my mistakes.
It may have started off as a meet-cute, but it sure escalated to life or death.
. This was terrible. I should've stopped when I didn't like the first page. No one should read this. While there were good ideas, they were not executed well and the characters were poorly done.
So then I dug through my stack of tbr paperbacks, and found Within the caves of a small Texas town lies a pool of strange, luminescent water. Twenty years ago, three teenagers were inhabited by a malevolent force living in the caves. Now, they've returned to the site as combatants in a supernatural war that flows through the raging currents of the world's rivers.. This was slow moving and a little boring for at least the first half of the book, but once things start happening, it moves quickly. Overall I liked the book, I just wish it had the same pace all through the book.
