Book Dump, Books 26-31
Sep. 5th, 2020 02:35 pmI've gotten behind on updating this again. I haven't read any physical books in a while, so this is just a list of eBooks I've read recently.
( Bound by Secret by Elena Lawson ) This was an interesting story. I didn't realize it was book two until after I finished it. There were a few things that probably would have made more sense if I had read the previous book, but I didn't feel too lost.
( Tease by Alexis Anne ) This one was...ok. It got a bit weird, but in a too many life secrets kind of way and random blackmail and just kind of an odd continuity. I liked the main characters well enough that I finished it.
( Vampire King by Joanna Mazurkiewicz ) I really enjoyed this Cinderella retelling. I think it actually would've been better without the sex bits, they were mostly random and awkward in a this doesn't really need to be here way. But the story itself was great and I really liked the characters.
( Only Tonight by Tmonique Stephens ) This was also a really good story that could have done without the random sex bits. I did not see the twists coming and that doesn't happen often for me.
( Touching Sin by J. Saman ) This was a good story with a random twist/unexpected character backstory that I'm not sure was entirely necessary, but it didn't take away from the main story.
And I'm still slowly making my way through ( The Chessman of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs ) I'm a little frustrated with the depiction of Tara. For all the strong female characters Burroughs has in all the other Barsoom books, she seems more damsel in distress and lacks the abilities of her father and brother which makes no sense.
