So I've been reading. A lot. Just haven't been able to post, so I'm just lumping them all together.

An archaeological expedition digging where it shouldn’t. . .
A crown so powerful it is rumored to be cursed. . .
And the one man who can explain it all. . .

Deep in a nearly impassable swamp south of the Egyptian border, an archaeological team is searching for the burial chamber of King Narmer, the fabled pharaoh. Narmer's crown might be buried with him: the elusive "double" crown of the two Egypts. Amid the nightmarish, disorienting tangle of mud and dead vegetation, strange things begin to happen. Could an ancient curse be responsible? Jeremy Logan, history professor and master interpreter of bizarre and inexplicable enigmas, is brought onto the project to investigate. What he finds raises fresh questions . . . and immediate alarm.

This was pretty good. Kind of has an Indiana Jones feel, except Indy is now a paranormal expert. I'm also wondering how much of the Egyptian history is true in it.

In this third book in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles series, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and prevent her army from invading Earth.

Their best hope lies with Cress, who has been trapped on a satellite since childhood with only her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker – unfortunately, she’s being forced to work for Queen Levana, and she’s just received orders to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

When a daring rescue goes awry, the group is splintered. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a higher price than she’d ever expected. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing prevent her marriage to Emperor Kai, especially the cyborg mechanic. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only hope the world has.

I love this series. I'm waiting on the next book from the library and then the newest one will be available (published) next month. I'm not sure if that will be the last one or not. In my head Captain Thorne is Hunter from SHIELD. The characters match up so well.

In a futuristic urban wasteland, evil Overlords have decreed that no child shall live a day past his fourteenth birthday. On that Sad Birthday, the child is the object of an obscene harvest resulting in the construction of a machinelike creature whose sole purpose is to kill.

The mysterious Shade -- once a man, but now more like the machines he fights -- recruits the few children fortunate enough to escape. With luck, cunning, and skill, four of Shade's children come closer than any to discovering the source of the Overlords' power -- and the key to their downfall. But the closer the children get, the more ruthless Shade seems to become ...

I've just started this one. It kind of has a Falling Skies feel, but all the survivors are children. Of course I don't know yet what they're fighting, if they're alien or human. It's interesting so far.

The first one sounds like Librarians fanfiction. I will totally try and get my hands on it. Thanks!

You know, it kind of was! More like the movies than the show.
