I *finally* finished it!!

I'll admit it was rough going for a bit and I may have avoided reading it occasionally. But it took *at least* two hundred pages to finally establish a coherent story line. And then there was still a random side story that doesn't seem to have had a point.

Overall, I liked the story. The characters were well done and the aliens were interesting. I'm not happy with the ending, but I've placed a hold on the next book, so I'll be able to finish it when I get it from the library in a few weeks.

I am intrigued to see how the story ends.

I'm happy to hear you made it through!

I seem to be the only one who loves Peter F. Hamilton's books as much as I do... but I'm glad at least the characters and setting appealed to you, even if not the pacing and general length.

I really did enjoy the story! Once I got used to his writing style and got past all the new character lines. The second book is moving much faster and I'm happy it didn't drag out coming back to the cliffhanger from the previous book.
