The Glare was interesting. A different take on an apocalyptic story. It's the first of a series, so it didn't really have an ending, but it was full of emotions. I don't think I'll read the rest, but it wasn't terrible.

Then I read I know what I want. It's not Max Donovan.
To hell with his money, his gaming empire, and his joystick.

I'm Payton Blake. A twenty-something girl living the dream.

Sure, my co-workers are misogynists, my best friend might be an undercover spy, and the only love I've been getting is from Jorge the Nightstand Boyfriend.

Welcome to the modern world.

I’m not looking for real love. Even if I had time in my day after trying to keep pace with the salesmen in my office and fixing the financial problems my mom landed in after getting sick? Max Donovan is the last guy I'd call.

The gamer-turned-CEO has blue eyes you could drown in. A piercing that makes me bite my lip. And a lot of women would pay money to see that man with his joystick.

But he's arrogant. Cocky. Jaded. Did I mention divorced?

I know this because Max just became my pseudo-celebrity client. Now I need him every bit as much as he needs me.

I'd be stupid to risk everything for a man who'll only play with my heart.

Even if he's way deeper than he shows the world.

Even if I want him to let me in so I can figure out why he's as cynical as he is brilliant.

Even if what we find in each other is more real than any game... It had some good parts, but felt a bit rushed in others. Overall it was a fun read.
