Mar. 12th, 2007 09:39 amso mirrormask was fantastic. i may actually have to go and purchase this movie... it had some labrynth/legend feel to it in certain places. and wasn't quite so all over the place as tideland was. and where tideland was more realistic in the child's fantasies this movie went to a straight up fantasy land. and that's where the comparison to labrynth comes in. both main characters are about the same age and are dealing with problems at home. then both end up in a fantasy world on a quest, searching for something. they are searching for different things, but both make friends along the way and both are "seduced" by the "evil" character (this is where the legend comparison comes in, it's really just one scene) and are sidetracked from the quest. of course it helps that both movies happen to be jim hensen films... the ending on this one was a bit cheesey, but it made me laugh. overall, it was a good movie. :)
