Fringe 1.08: The Equation

i think i've been reading too much stephen king lately because the first thing that came to mind when the dad opened the hood of the car and looked inside was that the car was going to do something to him... in a way i guess it did, but blinking lights were not exactly what i thought of.
and i want to know what happened to the kid to suddenly make him a musical genius. their explanation of the coma side effect would be fine for any other show, but i have a feeling something was done to him while he was in that coma.
i'm confused by the apple thing a bit too. maybe it was just the camera angle or the movement of the people or something, but i swear there were two safes. sitting on either end of the table. so when he put the apple in one and the equipment on the other, i was assuming the equation was for teleportation or something. but when he pulled the apple from the safe with the equipment on it i realized what he was really doing. and saw that there was only one safe. i'm pretty sure this is going to be used to steal something other than money from a bank safe. that would be silly on this show.
i felt really bad for walter when he got stuck at the institution too. i REALLY don't like the doctor there. he seems really shady to me. i hope they figure something out to keep walter out of there. of course, for the sake of the show they have to. the fact that he works with the FBI means he's kinda under government supervision all the time, that's gotta do something to help. and i don't see how peter's criminalish past makes him an unstable gaurdian. he's at least mentally stable. and currently he's working with the FBI as well so he's not doing anything criminal at the moment. walter should be allowed to stay with him.
